Seeing is an important part of understanding. It’s not radical to assume that things we can see are easier to comprehend than those we can not see. The internet is one of those things that we can not see, and thus have difficulty comprehending. The internet remains invisible to the untrained eye. It seamlessly blends into the computer, rendering itself as an immaterial feature of the screen. The images we (those with the privilege of internet access) see of the internet muddle our perceptions of it and further abstract it into an intangible, almost magical force rather than the physical infrastructure that it actually is.  It is this problem of obscurification of the internet that I  tackle in this video essay and accompaning publication.  I hope that

through visualizing this process of deresolution along with constructing visual forms for the invisible parts of the internet, I can make people understand the physicality of the internet and consider its impact on the planet.
